Message received from a parent after the Richmond Seminar:

"Hello... just wanted to say thanks to you and your team for the Ice Revolution Seminar.  I heard all about your wonderful event from [my daughter] that evening she clearly enjoyed all the team members and what they shared with her and the other skaters.  More importantly your team instilled a new sense of confidence and motivation in her and the other skaters as well.  Following your seminar [my daughter] taught learn to skate and I while waiting spoke with some of the others regarding the seminar and they all said it was hard but great.  They were clearly movitated, excited and had new confidence about their skating.  The next day [my daughter] landed her double loop, double toe and double flip clean in her lesson with her coach and was estatic with herself and so was her coach.  She texted me at work to tell me this and it brought a tear to my eyes, she actually believed in herself again. This alone was worthy every penny invested in the course.

Did you fix her overnight?  From a science standpoint, doubtful, but obviously the confidence you instilled was priceless and in a place like this (what I refer to as a rural rink, far from major skating events) this type of confidence is difficulty to find.  There are not any high level skaters here for the girls to look up to or model after and the coaches are great but that support only lasts so long.  So most of the ability to continue though learning difficult skills and putting endless time in has to come from within and this can easily be destroyed in teens from others comments.  I also saw a few skaters who came to the seminar this week but had recently stepped away from skating, actually practicing at the rink and announcing they were coming back to try it again.  A very pleasant site to see!

Also [my daughter] reported to me she thought you were disappointed when you asked who wanted to be an Olympian and very few raised their hands.  She said it is not that they do not want to be Olympians but we are not good enough to get to the Olympics so we did not raise our hands.  So Please let your team know that the work you are doing is very important and the confidence and renewed interest in skating is vital to these young skaters and the sport.  You are truly making a difference in their lifes and will not be forgotten.

THANKS FOR ALL YOU DO!"

More coming soon!  We received a lot of great feedback from our survey after the Richmond seminar!
