Figure Skating Seminar
consists of the following on and off-ice activities:
An off-ice jump and spin class, designed to: serve as a warm-up
in preparation for on-ice freestyle skating. It's meant to improve
jump technique and control of jumps and spins.
An on-ice warm-up edge class designed to: develop turn & edge
quality & control, as a daily warm-up routine and to help skaters
develop their skills for doing Moves in the Field (MIF).
An on-ice jump and spin class designed to: improve spin quality and
analyze jumping technique with Dartfish motion software
An off-ice physical strength & conditioning class
designed to: strengthen core muscles and develop body control
for improved capability for figure skating
* Salute to Dance
An off-ice ballet class designed to:
develop skater's style, musical interpretation,
expression, balance and grace
An on-ice stroking class designed to: develop
aerobic endurance (stamina) power and speed
*All Hands on Deck
An off-ice PowerPoint presentation for coaches, directors and club
board members, which covers the evolution of skating and charts a
new course for managing and directing programs and students in
the 21st Century
